A little pressure in our daily lives can prove very productive, helping us
concentrate, remain focused and motivated. However, if we are put under high or
prolonged pressure this can lead to Stress.

Too much pressure leading to sustained stress can cause both physical and mental
health issues. If not addressed this is often viewed as the precursor to (or
stepping stones to) Anxiety or indeed Depression.
Chemical changes occur as pressure levels rise, sustained stress leads to the
body producing high levels of both Adrenalin and Noradrenalin (fight or flight
triggers), along with the over production of Cortisol. The effects of these over
produced chemicals can result in a higher heart rate, higher blood pressure,
sleep disruption, irregular appetite and digestion problems.
It is important to understand the effects of pressure and stress, the individual
triggers and situations causing the stressor response, how thinking styles and
behaviour can contribute to stress levels. We can work with you to help you
