Insomnia/ Disrupted Sleep

Many people suffer from a poor night's sleep............
Generally the sleep difficulties manifest in two main ways:- Some find it difficult to start the sleep process, staring at the ceiling or just lying in bed for hours eyes closed wishing for sleep to start but unable to "drop off" to sleep. Whilst others, although able to initially drift off to sleep, find they wake two, three or even four times during the night.
In either case the troubled sleep pattern leads to lack of deep restful sleep with the result that the individual wakes in the morning often feeling tired and de-motivated, feeling as though no sleep has been achieved at all. Which in the long term can lead to stress, anxiety or depression.
Hypnosis can deal with these sleep problems, as you learn to fully relax and then with the aid of a specially created night time audios, deeper and more sustained sleep can be achieved.

Why the Poor Sleep Cycle/ What is Actually Happening?
The individual for whatever reason(s) is unable to "put away" conscious cares/thoughts and worries. This then leads to over ruminating, with unresolved thoughts or worries continually being re run in the subconscious mind. When sleep is finally achieved, it is only a light alpha state of sleep (Rem) that is occurring. When this REM phase should finish (between an hour and a half to two hours into the sleep cycle), the mind/body should then drop into a restful deep sleep, however it is unable to do so as issues are not being resolved, thus causing the person to wake up, often a number of times during the night, only to restart the REM cycle again and again.
As the deeper positive sleep is not fully achieved, so positive mind chemicals and hormones such as serotonin are not adequately produced, whilst stress chemicals such as cortisol are over produced, resulting in the tired, often negative feelings when finally morning arrives. Hypnosis can successfully break these cycles, using positive suggestions to break down over ruminating at the start of sleep, thus encouraging deeper more positive sleep patterns to occur.
